Fall Production Studio: Design
Fall Production Studio: Design In preparing a fully produced theatrical production for the stage, students will participate in and be exposed to professional production practices in all areas of theatrical design, including sets, costumes, props, lights, and sound. Students will be involved in planning, building, painting, constructing, and running and striking of shows. More advanced students may speak to the professors about taking on special projects, but those with little or no experience backstage are very much encouraged to participate. 8 hrs. lab
It was a very enjoyable course to take, you are able to learn many useful skills like sewing and coordinating. The class met for about 2 hours in the afternoon but very easy going and it felt like there wasn't enough time. It was also very interesting to see the amount of work needed to be put into the costumes and other factors of the productions.
This is a super hands-on and chill class. You mostly work in the theater, and that's it. All the staff members are really, really nice. They would joke around and bring snacks. There will also be a chance to participate in producing shows, which I found super fun. You will learn a lot of stuff about the theatre. The workload is super tiny, barely requires any work outside of class. There is one journal and some small quizs

You will be working with various faculty members, not just Prof. Evancho. All of them are very friendly and personable, but there is also some tension between the faculty team. Since everything is on a very strict time frame, stress among the staff is heightened and sometimes that translates into harsh or blunt instruction. The class is fun and allows you to dive into a particular niche interest within set building (construction, painting, lighting design, AV design).

This class was so chill. All you have to do is show up and play with power tools for like three hours, twice a week. Not a lot of homework, and the projects are fun to complete. Professors are also super chill
