This course was unique to me because I had never thought of human rights in a context outside of politics/international relations. I will say that Ben Graves is not everyone’s cup of tea—he’s fairly quiet so discussions often lulled. However, I really enjoyed his teaching style and the class is undeniably extremely easy if you do the readings (which are very enjoyable). No tests, and the only assignments are two five page, easily graded papers. This class was a great option to get my LIT credit and I definitely would take it again.

Prof Graves is super chill and obviously passionate about his book choices- which all ranged in form and content. This course was very lecture/discussion based, with very little assignments other than 2 essays (not very long) and 2 one-paged response papers. He understands that his students are busy and doesn't put an intense amount of pressure on us. Great class if you're trying to learn without having to do a copious amount of work.

Great way to get a CW and cultural credit without having to do a ton of work. Not very difficult but also not super interesting (unless you're very interested in the course material). Take with a friend if you can
