I took this class to get a distribution requirement and I am glad I did. We read one play a week from different Greek and Roman playwrights, discussing half of the play on Monday and the second half Wednesday. Friday was discussion where up to three students would be selected (or volunteer if they had not led discussion to that point) to present an argument on a possible interpretation of an aspect of the play. Pavlos would also contribute to any given discussion. Bulk of the work in this course came from the one or two weeks you led discussion, and as long as you read the plays throughout the semester, reviewing for the final exam is made quite easy. Overall a fun class that shows the beginnings of the comedic genre.

Prof. Russi is a great instructor and very passionate about the subject material. The course is very much discussion-based, with several papers assigned throughout. The papers are totally manageable and Prof. Russi is a fair grader. We also got rewrites which were quite helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Carrie was very kind and always allowed for extensions if students needed it. There were four papers throughout the semester, and we only needed to write 3. We got a rewrite for them as well. That made for clear expectations. There were lots of discussions and participation was important, but I enjoyed the content.
