I always love Professor Chaplin's passion in her teaching. The discussion sessions are very fruitful and are heavily based on assigned readings. If you don't read and think, it is hard to get involved. We have no exams but 4 papers: the first one is short, and the remaining are all 1800 words long. Professor Chaplin would like to see how you develop your thoughts using primary sources and the pace of reading and writing is comparatively fast.

The course was very dependent on the readings and honestly it felt like Professor Ganiban's lectures were just summaries of what we had to read. He uses slideshows but I wouldn't say that they're particularly geared towards being accessible for post-lecture review. The best part of this class however was the flexibility the professor would give us for the major writing assignments. I appreciated the opportunity to write about what actually interested me regarding the readings

Greek and Roman Comedy with Professor Sfyroeras is a great class if you enjoy reading and discussion. There’s a good amount of reading each week—mostly plays—and you need to come prepared to talk about them. The two exams were pretty easy as long as you kept up with the material. Discussions are key, and Pavlos creates a thoughtful, engaging space for them. If you do the reading, you'll get a lot out of it.
