The Creative Process
The Creative Process In this course, students will have the opportunity to dig deeply into their own creativity and explore the processes by which ideas emerge and are given shape in the arts. The experiential nature of this course integrates cognition and action, mind and body. Students will engage in a range of modes of discovering, knowing, and communicating, which are designed to push them beyond their present state of awareness and level of confidence in their creative power. Practical work will be closely accompanied by readings and journaling, culminating with the creation and performance of a short project.
I found this class to be enjoyable. I didn't fully know what to expect but I had a good time diving into different aspects of the arts such as drawing, movement, and music. There isn't too much work for this class, just some weekly readings and occasionally project you will have to creatively put together. Michole is a fun professor and class time was always pretty chill. You definitely have to put in work, especially for the final, but it was enjoyable and artistic work.

Kari was passionate and introduced us to various forms of art throughout the semester. This course allowed me to be more creative and notice art in the world around us. There were readings or podcasts that would sometimes be discussed in class. Kari did get us out of comfort zone towards the end of the semester, once we were more familiar and comfortable with each other through dancing/movement in a way that was easy going! This course often felt like a scheduled break in my week rather than a lecture I was dreading. I would recommend taking this course with Kari!

Michole is very passionate about this class and comes across a little more hard core than what the class actually entails. The curriculum is split up into three different sections: drawing, movement, and noise. It is very fun and chill and a good balance between classes that have more work. The homework consisted of drawing, dancing, and short readings. I would hIghly recommend this course.

Easy A but boring and you wont get a lot out of this class. But definitely a 5th class worthy and easy! Sometimes fun. Finish all the assignments and show up to class and you will get an A. There are weekly readings and writing a short paragraph about it but it is so doable!
This class is super easy and chill. They really try to stimulate your "creativity," but I'm not sure how effective it was. Regardless, it definitely pushes you out of your comfort zone and you have fun doing it. I'd say you get as much out of this class as you want to. The readings and discussions are thought provoking, but it is also easy to muddle your way through this class.
The course involves a lot of creative acts such as drawing, painting, dancing, writing, and any other form of art you can think of. Everything is graded very easily which is the main reason I would take it.
super fun class, it will get you out of your comfort zone and the hw is journaling about almost anything you want, there are some readings but super short and any assignments usually is doodling and journaling, you will have to perform quite a bit and get comfy with your classmates, as someone who's introverted it wasn't too bad i would recommend everyone to take it if they can and it's a break from all the other stressful classes.

Kari is amazing. I've learned the most about myself and the world we live in through her and the content she chooses to include in our in-person class time. She is sweet, understanding, and her expectations are clear.
If you need an Art credit, this is the course to take. It's super chill/easy, and although strange, it's actually kind of fun. It's just important to know that there are lots of performance components. They aren't difficult, know you'll have to perform in front of the class.
This class had a heavier workload than I expected and had readings, journals, and other homework due for almost every class. While the course work was not challenging, it was very much you get out what you put in.
This class was a great class to take for a break from academia. It provided a space for self-growth and self-discovery. I would definitely recommend it for freshmen, because it helps ease you into college work.
Professor is nice but hard to "read." Material is interesting and fun. Forces you to explore multiple media of expression and pushes you out of your comfort zone. The professor does not give prompt feedback grade-wise.
