Profe was very enthusiastic which made me excited to come to class. Classes were chill and had a high school feel to them, given that the majority of our activities revolved around us conversing with partners. My only grievance for the class is that 95% of our work was busy work. We had to do a "diario" which was a shared document with a partner. We were provided prompts to write about and were also tasked with responding to our partner's writing. I did not particularly find this beneficial to my learning. For our final project(s), we were asked to tap into our acting skills, and I feel as though we were graded more on our acting abilities than Spanish, given that we were also asked to memorize pages of lines for our final minidrama skit. Even with these minor annoying things, I really did enjoy the class, and would recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing Spanish/ continuing their learning in this discipline.

I really enjoyed this class with Marcos. They work very hard to make the class interesting and engaging, and they cover a lot of material in a way that doesn't feel too daunting. There is quite a bit of work outside of class, but it's all doable, if difficult at times.
Professor Nuñez offers a variety of readings that are engaging and lead to personal reflection by challenging previously held beliefs about borders and also how they impact people at an interpersonal level. Some borders we discussed were viewed through the lens of personal narrative or by learning about sociopolitical conflicts. While we did have some dense reads at the start of the semester, they were balanced with other forms of media, such as songs, podcast episodes, and news articles. Guided group discussions offered a time for peers to contribute questions, thoughts, and connect readings to bigger concepts or past lectures. For the written assignments, there is a lot of space for both creative and analytical thinking. They also offer a lot of support and feedback and are very accommodating.
