Alla Fil

Alla is a very thoughtful and accommodating professor, and I learned a lot in this class. The course moves quickly and there is homework almost every day. It can feel like a lot, but the work is generally manageable and does a good job reinforcing what you learn in class. Class is very participation-heavy. Overall it is a fairly demanding course, but I felt like my Spanish improved significantly and would recommend taking it with her.

This was a harder class for me, despite ending up with a good grade. She is very intense in class, cold calling and calling you out in front of the whole class if you are day dreaming for a second. However, she is also really nice and would bring food for our birthdays and stuff. She had a lot of assignments every week including essays and videos which got to be too much.

I enjoyed this class, and learned a lot. We had online homework every day, which included mostly grammar and vocabulary on Connect. Additionally, there were also essay and video assignments. While the workload was heavy, it was manageable after studying SPAN 101. Alla Fil was also a very thoughtful professor, and was more than accommodating with deadlines and extra help after class.
