Alla Fil

Professor Fil was very kind and was an amazing professor. She made her classes entertaining and engaging, and the readings were very interesting. Her grading during the semester was very tough, and somewhat disheartening, but if you prepare well for exams and big projects she grades very fairly on those.

This course was extremely enjoyable. Professor Alla was very efficient and catered to the students' needs as needed. The course material was very appropriate and helped me to acquire new skills and grammar for Spanish.

I really enjoyed my class with Alla Fil this past semester (Fall 2024). She is super enthusiastic about teaching Spanish and her upbeat energy and ability to laugh with her students makes the classroom environment feel less intimidating. The course itself was difficult at times, but mostly just because of homework (readings, occasional paper). She is a tough grader and grades for accuracy as opposed to completion on homework assignments. Alla Fil is very empowering and made me feel very confident in my Spanish speaking abilities!
