Marcos Rohena-Madrazo

This course is a gauntlet and one of the most difficult in the Spanish department but it is so worth it. Marcos is the most engaging and funny professor I've had at Midd by a longshot and they really cared about making the material feel fun and accessible. The flipside is this class had daily homework, rigorous closed note exams, and the harshest grading I've had of any class so far at Midd. Definitley worth it if you are looking for a challenge and want to change the way you see Spanish/language in general.

I LOVE Marcos. Very engaging. Very Passionate. Made the material very interesting. Pretty light on the workload. Some readings and songs to listen to before class. Only papers were 2 reflection papers on the class (before and after). Group final project.

Mixed feelings about this one. While it feels like I learned so much, I have to wonder at what cost that knowledge came. This class is really intense with the workload, to the point where Marcos had to restructure the system halfway through from student complaints. Props to them for listening to our feedback, but the first part of the semester was definitely frustrating and some of the work felt extremely tedious. Maybe you just have to be a linguistics nut but for me this class made the semester a lot more stressful.
