Marcos Rohena-Madrazo

I LOVE Marcos. Very engaging. Very Passionate. Made the material very interesting. Pretty light on the workload. Some readings and songs to listen to before class. Only papers were 2 reflection papers on the class (before and after). Group final project.

Mixed feelings about this one. While it feels like I learned so much, I have to wonder at what cost that knowledge came. This class is really intense with the workload, to the point where Marcos had to restructure the system halfway through from student complaints. Props to them for listening to our feedback, but the first part of the semester was definitely frustrating and some of the work felt extremely tedious. Maybe you just have to be a linguistics nut but for me this class made the semester a lot more stressful.

I loved this class! All of the supplemental material was super interesting and definitely had me wanting to actually do all of it. The class discussions were interesting and unlike others I've had at Middlebury. Marcos is awesome and they are super enthusiastic about the subject.
