Very interesting topic, and I found that a lot of the discussion points remained in my mind as I encountered technology in my everyday life. Juvshik is a great professor who teaches by fostering the students to engage deeply with the material rather than lecturing.
The course covers an introduction to formal logic. The pace is very slow, as there are many students in the class without a natural ability to pick up on logic. Thus, if the material comes easy to you, the classes might feel slow. If the material is difficult, Grasswick will accommodate and make sure you understand. Problem sets are easy, as are the exams.
This was easily my favorite class I have taken thus far at Middlebury. The course was co-taught by William Waldron and John Spackman. Both are incredibly kind, thoughtful, intelligent, and knowledgeable professors. There were daily readings (normally around 50ish pages) for which we took reading notes that were handed in on dedicated days, twice-weekly hour meditations with meditation journal entries, one group presentation, and two in-class writing exams. Overall, it was incredibly interesting and fulfilling.
