Tim Juvshik

Tim is a good professor and I really enjoyed have him as my teacher. The material for this class, on the other was very difficult for me, particularly the second half of the class. The problem sets were very long, frequent, and challenging, and frankly the material for me was unenjoyable. However, Tim is a very good professor and gives a lot of time for clarifying questions and practice during class and discussion. If you put in the work, you should be able to get an A or A- in the class. I would take another class with Tim but I don't think I would be interested in taking another class in formal logic

Professor Juvshik explains complex topics clearly and keeps lectures well organized. The assignments were challenging but closely matched the material covered in class, and feedback on exams was helpful for understanding mistakes. The pace can be a bit fast at times, so staying on top of the readings is important. Overall, a knowledgeable and approachable instructor who genuinely wants students to succeed.

An excellent course if you enjoy logic/puzzles, particularly after the first couple weeks. It involved a fair amount of homework, but many of the problems were enjoyable to me. While not very fast paced, and it assumed no background knowledge, it can be challenging to catch up if you fall behind, as each new concept builds on previous ones.
