Tim Juvshik

This course surprised me. I was worried about taking it after reading reviews of it that described it as only for math people or too fast, but it was awesome. It teaches you a whole new language and allows you to grapple with tough material that really clicks once you get it.

I am a HUGE professor Juvshik fan. One of my favorite profs I have taken a class with at Midd so far. He was great at explaining concepts, always presetned both sides of the argument, and made the classroom a really comfortable environment to speak in. Classes were pretty discussion based and while each class had readings, they were not too long and were very interesting and applicable. There were three small projects where you would have AI teach you a skill or utilize it for a past academic assignment, but they were pretty chill and actually fun. The final project is a poster, but he gives you plenty of time to work on it both in and out of class. Overall awesome class and awesome professor.

Overall a fun course and way to get your DED credit. The prof is super chill in and outside of class that matches well with the lecture style classes. You also get lots of work time and good practice in class if you were confused on the readings. The homework sets are super manageable and pretty easy and most of the homework questions are similar to the questions you'll find on quizzes and tests.
