I am writing this review having had a good experience with Prof Juvshik while also having struggled with the material. His grading can seem tough but he is trying to orient your writing towards the tradition, and by that I mean philosophical writing. This class gives information in bite sizes. Each class session and reading can stand on its own. This means you have to take these ideas and carry them forward yourself in order to produce final projects worth reading. Juvshik supports you in formulating your ideas, but you have to have a vision in oder to engage with him in dialogue. I really enjoyed this class and have taken incredibly important ideas into other subjects.

Loved the class, thought it was engaging and interesting, but Juvshik is somewhat harsh on students. Doesn't provide feedback that actually helps students improve, and could also be kind of rude to students. Entertaining class, certainly not a slog or anything, and Juvshik is really funny, but also kind of annoying and quite rude.

Fairly easy course, especially for those who excel in math. Professor explains things clearly, and is always available to help. Juvshik is an entertaining, engaging professor. At times, however, the class moved a little too slowly -- especially in the first half of the semester.
