Professor Higa is just an out-of-this-world professor, extremely kind and attentive, his class was extremely interesting and he unlike 99% of faculty here actually seems to care about our lives outside of class. THIS MAN RIGHT HERE IS THE GOAT

Daniel is an absolute sweetheart, he very clearly cares about his students and what he is teaching about. The course itself is not difficult -- it is very participation heavy so you kinda have to do the readings to do well. You can get by without it but then nobody talks in the class and it gets awkward. He is super accommodating and the readings are pretty interesting. I cannot recommend him enough

Professor Higa is wonderful. While meeting five times a week in the morning was sometimes challenging, he has so much energy that it made up for it. It was impossible not to have fun when Professor Higa was willing to go to extreme ends to inspire us to learn portuguese. He has a gift for teaching! You have to study to learn a lot of conjugations fast, but it's a fun time and after one-semester I was able to speak some portuguese in Brazil and get by pretty well.
