Daniel Silva

I took this course in Spring 2024, not 2023. I did study abroad in the fall semester, and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to continue to practice my Portuguese, especially in a very comfortable learning environment. Professor Silva is great and I highly recommend!

I love taking Introduction to Black Studies with Daniel Silva because he is knowledgable and well-verse on the topic. He comes to class very passionate about the subjects we're tackling in class and I find them to be all applicable to my life outside of Middlebury.

Daniel is an absolute sweetheart, he very clearly cares about his students and what he is teaching about. The course itself is not difficult -- it is very participation heavy so you kinda have to do the readings to do well. You can get by without it but then nobody talks in the class and it gets awkward. He is super accommodating and the readings are pretty interesting. I cannot recommend him enough
