Rose Morris-Wright
MATH
Ms. Morris-Wright is seriously one of the nicest people I've ever met. The lectures are not too fast. The homework is not a big deal, just like once a week and it takes like two to three hours to complete.
This course revolves around lectures, biweekly problem sets, and projects. The course starts with Euclidian geometry, which will be familiar to everyone from High School, but by the end you are doing much more abstract, non-Euclidian stuff. Lecture is okay, but sometimes it can be boring and it doesn't seem like the Professor came in with a lesson plan 100% settled beforehand. It's possible to get the HW without paying attention to everything in lecture, so I'd recommend starting with the HW problems and learning from there. Professor Morris-Wright is incredibly helpful in office hours making sure you get everything right. Projects are not super math-y and we're encouraged to be creative, and she means this– she really rewards those who show desire to learn and embrace creative projects.

The lectures were easy to follow, but the problem sets were difficult and the lectures didn't help much with them. Professor Morris-Wright is very kind and presumably accommodating, but she didn't really seem to have a masterful grasp of the course material herself. This wasn't the hardest course I've ever taken, but it was my least favorite.
