Raphaelle Gauvin-Coulombe
I've taken this course with Raphaelle in the morning and it would be hard to focus during lectures because of how low the energy levels were. The way the material was explained were not always well-explained and some days I leave the room not fully sure of what the lecture was about. The grading in this class was very tough, 70% exams and 30% of the problem sets. I did like her office hours better than her lectures. However, I would not recommend taking this course if it's in the morning.

Prof. Gauvin-Coulombe I thought was a very standard Intro Macro course and exactly what you would expect an intro college course to be like. It didn't feel very liberal-artsy because it didn't have to be - most people in the class are aspiring econ majors. She did a fine job lecturing and as long as you turned in the homeworks and studied for at least a couple hours before the tests it is chill to get an A

She is ok at lecturing. However, I found the grade breakdown very harsh. It was 30% problem sets and 70% exams. I highly recommend not taking this course. The exams are so heavily weighted that just doing so so on one exam messes up your entire grade. She also doesn't post practice exam/problem set answer keys so studying for the final exam/midterms is not particularly easy. Also, her exams are focused a lot on multiple choice questions and she often tries to play tricks in them. I understand that it is important to test students on their knowledge but the way she does it seems a little mean to me. Don't take this class, that's all I have to say.
