The course was really interesting, especially if you’re into how language shapes culture and society. The professor was passionate about the topic, which made lectures engaging. There’s a mix of linguistic theory and real-world examples, so it keeps things relevant. The workload isn’t too heavy, but there are some readings and a few essays to keep up with. Participation in class discussions is key. Overall, a solid class if you’re looking to improve your French while learning about its social context.

I had a good experience in this course; the content is interesting but not too difficult. The lectures were engaging as well. I do wish we did more on the history of the language more so than linguistics elements, but overall I would recommend this course.
This is the continuation of 101. 101 and 102 together finish the textbook. However, 102 gets more intense as it's the only class that semester. Meeting times are prolonged, and times spent on homework are roughly doubled. You will be kept relatively busy while your friends go to the Snowbowl daily.
