I think this class has potential to be valuable but the teaching style fell a little short for me. Classes were entirely lectures, with some occasional (not really helpful) group work; you'll get problem sets every week which occasionally just feel like busywork. Write down pretty much everything she writes down on the whiteboard to do well on her exams, which have variation between general, practical, and niche questions on the macroeconomy.

While Intro to Macro was not a difficult course, Craven made it a bit difficult to enjoy. She is really kind and sweet but she can sometimes make class feel really boring and slow-paced. She tends to cold call and most of the time she has not adequately explained what she is cold-calling on. She gives weekly problem sets and her tests are not too difficult. I will say that although her in-class explanations were a bit confusing meeting her for office hours always cleared up any confusions I had.

Craven while she seems like a very nice person, shes just not an engaging teacher. She lectures the entire class while cold calling a couple times throughout class. She uses a lot of slides and writes in chalk which is sometimes hard to read. She has good intentions but i just found her class a little boring and slow. She doesn't totally explain everything so make sure you ask questions if you have her.
