Carolyn Craven
ECON
It was a good course that does provide the basics of macroeconomics. Weekly problem sets that are not too bad. Exams cover exactly what we learned. Professor Craven has been teaching for a couple of years and is quite nice. She was also quite accommodating when I could not take an exam due to being sick.
Very straightforward tests and fairly easy grading. However, lectures were quite dry (for the most part) and if you miss something on them you’re kind of screwed for the HW (the textbook it kinda useless). Didn’t really like this class, but if you put in a minimal amount of effort you should walk away with a fine grade.
Prof. Craven is such a great teacher, it is a shame this is her last semester at Middlebury. I think this class would be good even without her though. The content is very interesting and useful for everyday life.
