Amitava Biswas

Perhaps the easiest class I have taken in my time at Middlebury however it is very much a "get what you put in" sort of class. You can sit back and coast through the semester and likely get an A/A- but you will likely not learn a thing. If you pay attention and actually try you will learn a ton of information that at least for me is very relevant down the line career wise.

I found Professor Biswas's lectures very hard to understand. This course involved a lot of tedious excel work that he went over really quickly in class. Biswas has a background in consulting so the class has a heavy focus on that. We had few assignments but when we did the instructions were often unclear. You don't have to do the final project if you do all of the other assignments which is really nice.

Professor Biswas is very brilliant and a great person to talk to and learn from. His courses aren't very difficult or stressful which allows you to take in as much as you want and focus on the material without a lot of of pressure. You will get full credit for all of the assignments as long as you complete and put effort into it.
