Beginning Russian
Beginning Russian This course is a continuation of the approach used in RUSS 0102, but with increased emphasis on reading.
Mathew Walker is a brilliant prof. He is clearly passionate and, while not very organized, is a great teacher. The course is difficult but if you do what you are supposed to you can get an A. Just a lot of regular homework and exams.
Professor Portice is great. He answers any questions you have and will further explain to clear up any confusion. You'll do a lot of group work with him, especially writing on the board, which is very helpful. I really enjoyed class with him and Professor Moss. They're both great and have different teaching styles that create a balance. Homework has to be done everyday, and they highly encourage you to read the textbook before class (very helpful in my opinion).

Both professors were very understanding and would accommodate to your needs. They kept an enthusiastic energy and always made class fun and interactive. There were homework almost everyday but it was just repeat from class lectures.
Professor Moss is a delight. He's hilarious, fun, and always ready to help. He's very accommodating with his office hours but be prepared to stay longer than intended because you just might end up talking about something totally off topic.
