Intro to Biblical Literature
An Introduction to Biblical Literature This course is a general introduction to biblical history, literature, and interpretation. It is designed for students who seek a basic understanding of the Bible on its own or as a foundation for further study in religion, art, literature, film, and other disciplines. It aims to acquaint students with the major characters, narratives, poetry, and compositional features of biblical literature and how these writings became Jewish and Christian scriptures. The course will also explore various approaches to reading the Bible, both religious and secular.
This is an excellent course! Professor Davis recommended taking a course with Professor Lim, and I was not disappointed. This course has something for everybody. I love Professor Lim's teaching style and she's super enthusiastic. Really brightens my day. The exams were relatively easy if you prepared a little bit, and the weekly assignments were actually super fun. Can't recommend taking a course with her enough.

You get one assignment per week, which are easy and fun. The readings are not complicated because you have access to translated versions of the bible, and Professor Lim does a fantastic job at breaking down complicated, critical biblical events during the lectures. Professor Lim does open-book exams and dedicates several classes to prepare you for them.
This was a really easy course. Exams were both take home and had weekly writing assignments once in a while that were really straightforward. The class goes by fast, as it is an intro, but you dont have to know evevrything. It was great.
