Professor Chaplin is a very good latin teacher, not to mention that she is probably superb on her history classes. She would make sure you get everything in class, and would always print out extra practice sheets just for us to review things, which helped so much. It is much less paced in comparison to J-term latin, but it is still latin every day. Works are do-able but one does need at least an attentive hour at least for the homework. The class was small and we made friends there. Overall a cozy classics experience.

Professor Ganiban is one of the foremost Vergilians in the country and reading the Aeneid with him is awesome. There is a big final paper at the end of the course that can be challenging if you have not done the work throughout the semester.

This course will complete the second half of Beginning Latin 1 offered in the winter. The course is fast-paced, with the goal of finishing the textbook, Wheelock's Latin, at the end of the semester. While not super easy, and certainly requiring serious commitment to homework and studying for quizzes, this course is very rewarding.
