The course was mainly readings and discussion-based lectures. There were assignments, but the course was primarily oriented towards the final project that incorporated an oratory interview. Professor Livny was very helpful and understanding in this course.
It's a real shame that Prof. Schine retired because his classes are always wonderful. This was a very unique class, with the two weeks in Europe allowing for a deeper level of engagement with the material.
The study tour to NYC makes it worth it. Good for Jewish and non-Jewish students to learn together and ask questions that people might be too afraid to ask outside of the classroom. I loved the readings -- they are from books written within the last year, making them easy to digest and relatable. Sasson is accommodating and understanding.
