Zupan was extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the Ferrante books. She is a fair grader and makes you submit a rough draft, which she gives extensive comments on, making it easy to follow her corrections and get a good grade
This is an overall really good class, but the reading was overwhelming at times. Pat Zupan is the best, she is super passionate about these books which makes discussion so easy because she tells you exactly what she thinks and you can use those thoughts for your essays. You also submit a first draft for all of them, and the edits she adds are a true formula to get an a. I'd definitely recommend but just be aware that it can be a ton of work at times

There is a lot of reading for this class, but the Ferrante novels are really interesting and enjoyable to read. Zupan is a really easy grader. We were required to submit a draft of every paper before the final was due, and Zupan gave a lot of helpful feedback on drafts. A large part of your grade in the class is participation but its not hard to participate as long as you did a some of the reading. It's really easy to get a good grade in the course as long as you do the bare minimum.
