We actually had a different professor last spring, but the course work was very applicable to finance jobs. You learn about the intersection of a cash flow, income statement, and balance sheet, You really learn the basics of financial literacy in a way that no other classes offer here.
This course was very easy. I stopped going to class after around week 4 and I still got an A. As long as you keep up with homework assignments (which are very doable), try on the take home exams, and take time to do the group project, you will not have any trouble.
Professor Magri was fantastic. She was super enthusiastic about the class. The exams were easy and take home (not to mention generously graded) but the class was high-value. If you're going into finance I would definitely recommend it.
Super chill class, just show up and do the projects and you are nearly at an a minus minimum. Not too much expectations just be a normal person and you will be fine for this class. Definitely the class need to fill up your schedule
This class is quite easy to get a good grade in. Weekly homework that is not too complex with take home tests and a final group project. To really gain from the class does require paying attention in class even if getting a good grade doesn't.
Professor Magri is an excellent teacher and clearly cares very much about the material and getting people to learn. All homework you get 6 attempts, quizzes are take home, open note, and you get two tries, etc. She wants you to learn, not worry about grades. You do have to buy the e-textbook however, because that is where the homework is.
Professor Magri is a super nice, very accommodating, awesome professor. Class was very very easy. No need to participate, but it will help you in the long run if you do. The group final project is your big grade, but it is very easy to ace if you just do it.
I really liked taking this class with Professor Magri. her teaching approach was very effective, and her grading is also pretty easy. its one of those classes where if you show up and do your work you'll walk out with an A. definitely would recommend this class.
Intro Accounting with Magri was a very good class. I learned a lot about Accounting in it, which is very valuable if you plan on working in finance. The class was easy, with online tests, but it was still very helpful.
Prof. Magri was an accountant before she came to teach here, so she is very knowledgeable. If you have questions about the homework, she is always there to answer anything you need. The homework can sometimes be tedious, but it helps you understand the material well. I would recommend taking this course 100 times over.
Professor Magri is an incredibly nice person and a good professor. Homework and quizzes are very easy; you get three attempts to check each problem on homework for no lost points, and three chances to submit homework. Quizzes are take-home and you get two attempts, with the highest score being taken as your grade.
All the exams are open book and homework is completed through Connect. You don't have to do any of the reading before class, although it helps if you want to participate. Participation isn't required, though. The final project is easy and as long as it looked like you did something you will get an A. Magri is very sweet if you need any help!
Accounting was good--definitely easy as long as you complete the Connect assignments, and stay up to date with course concepts. Tests are all take-home and open note, and final project is with a group but is very doable.
The course was relatively easy. Lectures were fast-paced, but McGraw Hill Connect (required software) explains things much more clearly. My main issue with the class was buying this required software (>$100), and the fact that the homework was graded by the computer.
Intro to accounting with Magri was a good class to get a background in accounting. Magri is a very accommodating professor. The final project is the biggest part of the class but is largely up to the students to organize and execute.
Accounting was great, Magri is a super understanding instructor who just wants you to do well. Connect, the portal where you do the homework, is super annoying though, but once you have done the first few homeworks it is easier to maneveur, this class is definitely homework heavy.
Accounting with Magri was a good course, she tries to cover a lot in a short amount of time, the Connect homework assignments are kind of a lot, but they can be really beneficial. The exams are take home so very doable.
