AI, Writing, and Creativity: The Imagination in the Digital Age In this course we will explore the relationship between artificial intelligence, human writing, and creativity. Students will examine how AI systems like large language models are transforming creative expression while considering fundamental questions about imagination, authorship, and the nature of human creativity in the digital age.
This course was great. We did a lot of group work with humans vs AI and compared results. Professor Vila is very enthusiastic about his work and is a great professor. There are a lot of books you have to read but if you start reading way before they are due you will be in good shape. There are no exams either, it is all papers. I would definitely recommend taking a course with him.
The course was highly enjoyable and provided a flexible schedule with deadlines for assignments and readings. I found the subject matter to be extremely relevant to the time that we currently live in. The readings done in the course were very manageable and highly relevant to assignments and discussions. Pacing in the class was also very manageable and flexible compared to other classes.

I thought this class was super interesting because of how much knowledge the Professor has for AI. Also, this class was super intriguing because it is quite a relevant topic in todays society. I gained a lot of real world knowledge from this class that I find myself using in my daily life.
The professor is very kind and enthusiastic. They really helped me understand concepts better without feeling pressured to find a singular correct answer. Every reading is very relevant to the topics explored in the course, so it's important to keep up, but there won't be huge penalties for falling behind.
