Professor Rahn was great, I was just a little bored with the material. Surprisingly though, the lab was the hardest part and didn't really feel like it helped me better understand or even practice concepts from the course. I also didn't love the lab reports, but that stems more from my preference for the more minimalist style of the physics department.
I really enjoyed this class—it was fun, low-stress, and super engaging. The workload was very manageable, and the fact that there were no exams made it even better. Instead of memorizing facts, we focused more on math problems and understanding big ideas, which made the class feel much more relaxed and interesting.
Professor Guiberson is very nice but doesn't seem to know biochemistry as well as is needed to teach effectively. I liked her format of giving lots of practice opportunities in class. But she doesn't always understand the material and it shows in her lectures and grading. If I hadn't already known most of this material from biology classes I would've been screwed. I hope she takes the time to learn the content for the future because I think she has a lot of potential as a professor based on her teaching style.
