Kira Rahn
Professor Rahn was great, I was just a little bored with the material. Surprisingly though, the lab was the hardest part and didn't really feel like it helped me better understand or even practice concepts from the course. I also didn't love the lab reports, but that stems more from my preference for the more minimalist style of the physics department.
The course was fine for an intro chem course-- the material is just as you would expect. Rahn teaches really slowly and can be very repetitive. We would work through example problems as a class for a lot of class time. She is also big on in class group work.
Professor Rahn was extremely helpful and supportive throughout the whole course. The lectures were very structured and organized, and what was expected of us was always clear. There are weekly graded quizzes, but they are relatively low-stakes and a good opportunity to see her exam style. There were worksheets to help guide our notes every class and the small group work allowed us to work through and practice concepts on our own before going to the homework. It was tough but would definitely take with professor Rahn again.
