Advanced Social Psychology This course expands on basic knowledge of social psychology and the social cognitive processes that underlie our perceptions and behaviors. We will discuss research findings, methodology, and practical implications. Students will design research projects that integrate existing findings into an applied program or intervention of their own design to address a real-world issue. Practical applications of social psychological theory and research will be used to address contemporary social issues.

Social Psychology Social psychology is the study of how social situations affect the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors of individuals. This course will provide an overview of social psychological theory and research findings, as well as reviewing the ways in which these findings are applied to the study of issues such as aggression, close relationships, prejudice, and altruism. Students will also learn about the research methods that social psychologists use to test their theories.

I really enjoyed this class and Professor Fenstermacher was very informative in lecture and managed to keep the class engaged even though it was a night class. Topics were very interesting and exams were not difficult and fairly graded. Virtually no homework each week, aside from a small amount of textbook reading and one assignment. Great class.

I thought the class content was pretty interesting, however it faded throughout the semester as the nights felt longer. For a reference, I am night owl and I thought that the class time wouldn't effect me, but I was wrong. Proceed with caution!

I loved then professor of this course. The readings were not 100% necessary to do well on the exams, but were still helpful for some questions. You definitely have to study pretty hard but overall I felt like it was a very manageable and interesting course.
