Steve Abbott

Calc II is known for being extremely difficult, and I knew this going into the course, however, I think I even underestimated it. Professor Abbott is extremely passionate about the material and is very kind. He loves to tell stories about the mathematics which is engaging and I certainly laughed a lot in class. However, he doesn't really lecture and instead just sends students off to do problems without having taught material which is extremely difficult and frustrating. The class is no doubt difficult and I wish I could have had more understanding.

Prof. Abbott is truly an amazing professor and this is his area of expertise, so I definitely recommend taking this class with him if you need to. I enjoyed his office hours a lot! There are always many students taking advantage of them. It is nice that he goes over the more difficult homework problems in class. Make sure to always stay engaged if you are sitting in the front row because sometimes there is cold calling.

Prof Abbott is great. He is really passionate about math and explains things really well. I took calc in high school and struggled, but this class will be a breeze. There is homework almost every night but its honestly not hard and is often very short.
