Stephen Hoffman

Tough class for the professor, I feel like the students weren't super engaged and that caused the class to suffer. Hoffman was very engaging and it was clear he cared deeply about the student experience. The class is easy and you get out what you put in.

I thought that this course, while pretty easy, is incredibly boring. I had high hopes and real interest in taking the class but sadly I was disappointed. The lectures are very boring and hard to pay attention and the readings can be learned through common sense for the most part. Coding in R is part of the course, and we were only given a textbook to learn (which was very unhelpful). The quizzes are easy, I overall was disappointed with the class. Although it wasn't hard I believe it could have been structured and taught better. Hoffman is a great professor, and a cool guy to talk to. The class was just really boring.

I thought that this course, while pretty easy, is incredibly boring. The lectures are very boring and hard to pay attention to, and the readings are helpful but not completely necessary. There are weekly Data Analytic Memos that use R code. We were only given a textbook and told to code in R, we were not taught how to code from the professor which made the projects very hard. Every quiz is take home, and pretty straightforward.
