Sarah Rogers
The lectures felt slow, and it seemed that it was the same topics covered throughout the entire semester. The grading was very inconsistent, although Professor Rogers was very upfront about what to study before exams.
This is the kind of course that makes Middlebury so unique. Professor Rogers knows this content like no other - it is such a breath of fresh air. High quality readings that aren't too long, well-organized and dense lectures, and no filler. A few written assignments (which are graded fairly, despite popular opinion...), some quizzes, but all *very* doable.
I really enjoyed this class. The material is very interesting, and Professor Rogers is one of the best lecturers I have had at Middlebury so far. The course is very reading heavy, and she is perhaps sometimes I bit harsh on grading for writing assignments. But the class is pretty easy, all things considered.
