Professor Matthews was very clearly enthusiastic about the course, however, he wandered a little bit in his teaching. He would constantly have slides for us to go through, but due to him calling on people from his list (which would take up most of the class time) we'd only get through 2-3 slides out of his 10 slides every class. However, the quizzes weren't too bad and because he drops the lowest one, if you do well enough on the first 4, you can leave for winter break early. Good class, would recommend.

Peter Matthews was one of the most enthusiastic teachers I've ever had. He loves economics in general, and you can see how much he enjoys teaching the course. He explained the material fairly well and the problem sets were helpful.

If you understand the reading and lectures you should be fine. He moves through the material pretty quickly so meet with him if you don't understand something. The office hours are usually pretty crowded so try to meet individually. Overall, I thought the information was pretty useful.
