Peter Hamlin
MUSC
This was a very fun course. Peter is a retired prof, so this was the only thing he was teaching, and he gave it his all. He designed the course around what we found interesting, and would often shift project requirements if we expressed interest in doing something else. It did feel mostly like lab stuff, usually hands on soundscape work or designing, with not a huge amount of imperial learning. That said, I still think it was a good experience. Peter really enjoyed the class, and invited us for dinner at his house.

Professor Hamlin is super passionate and kind. Expect him to go on lots of tangents about what he is interested in, with some relation to sound design/music history. The work for this course consists mostly of weekly soundscape projects, with a rare reading or screening, and some bigger projects/essays. I felt I had ample time to complete these projects and was encouraged by the professor to follow whatever interests I had. Not too difficult if you are interested in the material.
