Otilia Milutin
I took Japanese because I aim to study abroad in Japan, although I don't intend to major in Japanese. I feel like this course trains me comprehensively in my Japanese skills, especially because of the focus put on listening and speaking drills.
While Milutin Sensei, was phenomenal in her lectures and teaching, she made her strongest effort to teach us all grammar and material. While I think she was great, the course was a lot. It went over way too much material in a semester for most people in my class to truly understand. I felt like in the class I would just learn to succeed on an exam or quiz, but not to genuinely learn the language.

J-term feels different because there is only one class. It is fast-paced and there is a lot of materials, but it is totally manageable as you have all the time to study for it. Daily homework and regular quizzes, the Japanese department is very organized and everything is very clear.
