Olga Parshina
Introduction to Psych with Olga Parshina was definitely a fast-paced course, but that is no different from any other intro psych class. She is fairly nice and the tests on canvas are pretty easy if you follow along with lectures and take notes. Very interesting material if you are intrigued by psychology in any way. You don't need to know anything about psychology before taking this course either. Would take again.

I personally found this class difficult due to the professor's personality. A lot of my classmates and I agreed that she had some noticeable mood swings throughout the week. Which would impact her lectures and office hours. I don't think the class was difficult from the content, but challenging if you didn't read the textbook. She gave out weekly HW assignments which were take home exams, that was reflected from the weekly readings. It also takes up a good chunk of your grade, so make sure you do the readings. My flight or fight mode was triggered here and there, when I was in her office to ask her fore questions, because it seemed like she was testing how well I completed the readings. I would recommend this class if you are interested in linguistics, like her style of teaching/experienced her teaching before, or if you have a lighter load of classes.

I thought that Prof. Parshina was an extremely harsh grader and was not willing to give any partial credit on tests, quizzes, or homework grades. The home work was also all graded, which provided no opportunity for being able to learn from mistakes. In office hours Prof. Parshina was fairly harsh and unwilling to hear the student's way of thinking. Prof. Parshina is also the least personable Middlebury professor that I've had, she doesn't seem like she likes working with college students. (Spring 2025)
