Niwaeli Kimambo
Niwaeli is a great professor. She is passionate, incredibly intelligent, and meticulously organized. I know many people who have bad things to say about this course. It must be noted, however, that Human Geography with GIS is a fast-paced, content-heavy, difficult GIS course - this should be no surprise to anyone. On top of that, Niwaeli has to manage around 50 students, which is highly stressful, time-consuming, and greatly limits her ability to attend to every single student. That being said, though, she does her absolute best to accommodate where necessary, and will always take her time to explain content or answer questions, if time allows. She goes through every assignment for all 50+ students by hand, giving individual and specific feedback to everyone. People do not give her enough credit. She is a terrific professor, and an even better person. It is very unfortunate that her hands seem to be always tied due to over-enrollment and a severe lack of resources. Yes, this class is difficult and daunting at times. Ultimately, though, if you just keep up with the work and do everything she tells you to do, the rest will follow. It's literally the best "bang for your buck" Geography class out there, and I think that outweighs everything else.

Prof Kimambo is not meant to be a course instructor for an intro course. It is clear that she is knowledgable but is not helpful and honestly, at times extremely disrespectful to the students of the class. The expectations were constantly shifting and were extremely unclear for projects and homework. I didn't learn much from lectures, the labs were helpful for sure, but they were all taught by videos created by the late Prof Holler, so it wasn't even Niwale teaching.

This is a really brutal class. Project instructions are incredibly unclear, and many nights you won't even realize you had homework until you come to class the next day (its not posted anywhere). Dr. Kimambo is a great person, but this class is not one I reccomend.
