Niwaeli Kimambo
Niwaeli is a very nice person and is very flexible when you struggle to meet deadlines or don't grasp concepts. Going to office/TA hours is crucial in this class. However, her teaching methods aren't the most effective for the work that she required us to do. The expectations were unreasonably high, and I think more hand-holding was required to get us through the lab work. It often felt like we kind of went over concepts and then were expected to apply it to complex QGIS systems. The large class size and limited amount of office hours also did not help. For a class required for all ES and Geo majors, this class is very challenging and time-consuming. Professor Kimambo will not make it easy.

I love Professor Kimambo as a person but would never take this course again. It is simply too much work and I have no interest in GIS (am an EJ major) but it is satisfying to learn difficult things all in all.
If one had to take only one geography course, this would be it. Material is essential to getting a job in the field. Course work is pretty rhythmic and straight forward, but not necessarily easy. Don't expect a lay up
