Michael Czekanski
This course was challenging in that I felt a fairly steep learning curve figuring out r. The prof's explanations in class were not always the most clear, but he was very accessible in Office Hours and happy to help as much or as little as needed (he often explained things to me 4 or 5 times). The first exam was challenging (average score in the C range), but the final project was fairly easy and graded for completion. There were also some hiccups with the TA and grading that made aspects of the course feel a bit haphazard.

Professor Czekanski is very knowledgeable on the topics, but at times he would go in-depth to the point where you could get lost very easily. The lectures are long, and it is very confusing. For a class that is coding-based, we spent very little time actually learning the coding and much more time watching the chalkboard.
This class was not that hard overall. The exam was exactly what we did in class and worth 35% of our grade. It gets hard to pay attention in class because the lecture style isn't very interesting especially because it's all coding. Czekanski is very smart and very knowledgeable but I don't think he was the best person to teach an intro stat class. He was very accommodating when it came to homework though.
