Professor Liebhaber was super helpful. You always knew what to expect on exams. Most of class is spent doing speaking/conversational exercises, which went a long way in helping my informal Arabic. Homework is long, but you're not expected to always finish it, and the grading is flexible.

Maryait is the best. She's very understanding and accommodating but also will be tough on you when she thinks it's necessary and it's very effective. She is hilarious and makes class fun + interesting. She's a generous grader and you can always ask her questions. Def memorize the vocab for each lesson.

With this being a J-Term class, a lot of content was covered in a very short amount of time. The class met 4-5 times a week with a considerable amount of daily homework. In addition to homework, daily studying is also highly encouraged to stay on top of learning the language. That being said, the class was very fun and I learned a lot. Ustadha Maryait did a very good job explaining new concepts and made sure we were comfortable with them. Despite the speed of the class I didn't feel like I fell behind. Definitely would recommend.
