Marcia Collaer
I thoroughly enjoyed this class. I knew it would be fast-paced and a lot of textbook reading going into it because of it being a j-term class, so I was prepared for the amount of work we were assigned. The class is very straightforward, with lecture in class and mostly only textbook reading as homework, with the occasional article to discuss in class. If you do the textbook reading and pay attention in class, the tests are very straightforward and fair. I really liked Professor Collaer, as it was obvious that she is extremely educated in psychology and has a strong interest and passion for it. She was very helpful during office hours and I am actively looking for more classes taught by her.

The course was very straightforward and easy to get into a rhythm with. Readings are the main source of work but I didn't do a single one, and it didn't make a significant difference on exams. The professor is very kind.
I took this class for a premed requirement and to fill my schedule expecting it to be a drag and was very pleasantly surprised!! There was a lot of reading but as long as you keep on top of it it's alright -- if you don't get a reading done def try to at least read the chapter summary before heading into class. Lectures were either fascinating and lively or boring me to sleep with very little in between, if you like taking notes you'll be fine, and I recommend taking a decent amount because lots of material discussed in lectures appear on exams. Exams were tight on timing but very fairly graded. The final paper was also a fun final assignment and nicely spread out across the semester! Overall this class was much better than I expected it to be and ended up leaving me with much more of an interest in psych than I ever expected to have, I would consider taking more psych classes or classes with Prof. Collaer in the future!
