Marcia Collaer
PSYC
I had heard that Professor Collaer was nice, so I chose to take psych stats with her, and boy did I regret that choice. Her teaching methods are outdated (shes still uses an overhead projector) and so her class notes are not accessible after the class period is over. There was also minimal flow to them. She would start writing seemingly random information on random worksheets and then that information would turn out to be very important when I did not realize it. I struggle with math, and I did not feel like she was empathetic towards that. I also thought it was ridiculous that she did not allow her students to use the bathroom during class. I am an adult and I will hold it if I can but sometimes you just have to go pee, and you should not be shamed in front of the entire class for that.

With Collaer the class has homework assignments every night that you can do the night before however, it will take you a while. I thought how Prof. Collaer teaches was very manageable and she's always willing to answer any questions and there's no use of R with her because she focuses on the concepts.
This felt like a high school math class; homework every night and a lot of it, but ultimately very good preparation for the exams. The content of the course can be a little tricky at times but Professor Collaer does a good job explaining it, and is overall an excellent professor-- organized, professional, timely, patient, etc. The class can be a little boring, but it's valuable material and definitely worth it.
