Luis is the absolute best, I certainly recommend a class with him. He is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and loves this subject. It wasn't the absolute most exciting class of all time as it was a pretty standard format of a reading for class and then he presented slides with some discussion topics. Definitely a chill vibe and lots of communication which helps if you are preparing for abroad. Only one main paper, a group presentation, and a final oral exam. Chill class, would recommend, and anything with Luis.

Luis is an incredible professor. He is always accommodating of students' needs and wants you to succeed in his course. This is a great class if you want to read one of the great books of the Latin American tradition and really understand it. As it is focused on one book, the readings for the course are very enjoyable and not too difficult.

Spanish 0220 with Castaneda was an amazing experience if you are looking to improve your Spanish skills without feeling overwhelmed by the pressure of speaking in only Spanish. Professor Castaneda is very accommodating towards students' needs while also pushing students to speak in Spanish. The homework is very manageable and all the assignments he gives are very straightforward with minor confusion. Overall, his class was a great experience and I would highly recommend taking a class with professor Castaneda!
