Luis Castaneda
This course felt similar to Spanish courses I took in high school. Everyone is expected to talk in Spanish the whole time but Prof Castaneda is very nice and it doesn't feel scary. A lot more grammar heavy than I had expected and it hard to grasp complex Spanish grammar topics sometimes. We had super short readings every class but you never had to do them with one group presentation, three in-class writing assignments, one short novel, and two exams. Overall I would say this is a pretty chill Spanish class, you just might have to put in some extra effort for concepts you don't understand as he doesn't always spend a lot of time on all the grammar concepts.

Almost no homework, and exams are very manageable if you study. He provides a study guide that follows the format of the exams. He is a very fair grader and provides opportunity for corrections/extra credit. The class itself was not the most interesting, but Prof Castaneda is very kind and helpful.
While already knowing the language, I would say the class was simple, most of it if not all, was very common sense. However, I will add that if you're genuinely looking to learn the language, while it might've be obvious, you need to be motivated in wanting to since his lectures are so fast paced, and short which literally revolve around going over what he 'assigned' as HW for that day, but its not like actually graded, it's just so that you know what's happening when you come into class that day. The only real grades involve a long assignment in Connect which is due by the end of the semester with no checkpoints at all, as well as a few(about 5) written papers based on the material you're learning which are not hard and he's so nice when it comes to grading, you always get the chance to correct get points back and even re-do. Overall good teacher, easy class, unorganized structure of the class, and super-fast paced.
