It is definitely a great course to teach you a lot of words and grammar for speaking the language, but the homework and presentation can sometimes feel like it's too much. But I believe that if the professors see you trying on your homework and class participation, they don't grade too harshly when it comes to exams. And they have office hours and are very willing to help you relearn and or practice content covered in the class.

Hayasaka-sensei is wonderful! She truly cares about her students and the language she teaches. Though the homework was heavy, it was manageable if you took an hour a day to just look over what you needed to do. Part of the final, in addition to a regular exam, was a 10-min presentation memorize on the topic of your choosing. You do lots of prep homework for it.

Standard of teaching for this course remains as high as ever, and the progression from 103 is smooth and sensible. As with every semester of Japanese, you’ll learn quite a bit if you’re willing to be consistent about doing the work. Was a bit of a scramble to fulfill the activity requirement, but doable nonetheless.
