Kristin Bright
I was dreading taking this class, but I really enjoyed it with Kristy. Kristy does a great job of making the material digestible and preparing you for the exam. Some of the readings can be dry, but most of them are really interesting.
It was fun class, it was very engaging. The class was very discusssion based so reading was important. Very week there was a discussion, there isn't a lot of assignments. It very chill paced class and the professor is very chill.
I loved the Traveling Tonic with Kristin Bright. Professor Bright is an amazing human and has so much knowledge about med anthro to impart. Class deconstructs notions of western medical authority and highlights the historical contexts that informed biomedicine. I would highly recommend this course for any pre-med students, anthro majors/minors, or anyone interested in alternative modes of healing. There are also lots of fun class activities like making chai, planting plants, walking in the forest, listening to guest speakers, and eating delicious food!
