I didn't go into this course interested in game theory, but I came out of it with an appreciation for the content. I am usually neutral on math and logic games and I actually found that the math turned out to be pretty fun for me, but if that doesn't sound like your thing then avoid this course for sure. Four exams, with the highest 3 grades being kept (so that the 'final' is optional if you did well enough on the first three) and pretty generous on the homework (he does accept late problem sets!). Very structured, and not as hard as some other reviewers make it sound (especially if you invest the time in reading the textbook.) Professor is really funny!

Game Theory with Carpenter is definitely a very interesting class with applications behind just an Economics major. Carpenter can seem a little unenthusiastic, but he is always willing to help and is very lenient.
Game theory is a tough course, but Professor carpenter is really enthusiastic. The class is taught out of the book he wrote, so it follows the book pretty closely. The homework is tough, but if you do the homework, you will be well prepared for the exams. He also curves generously on the exams.
