I love Garcia. really chill and laid back prof. wants you to enjoy the reading. nice class to have if you have a busy semester. Very funny and understandable when it comes to work and extensions. his teaching style is not too helpful if you are trying to get better at Spanish. it's more like a fun class to involve yourself when u want to.

I really enjoyed taking this class. It was my first spanish class at middlebury and I am very glad. I felt like I really related to Enrique. He loves teaching this class and has personal interest in it so it makes it really fun. He is always making jokes. You have to do 3 big papers and that all and I felt like the class was mostly participation. He also let students fix their grammar and content errors after the essays for a better grade.

Professor García is a fantastic guy and a very passionate professor of Spanish-language media. This was the third class I have taken with him (after two language classes), and I loved it. We learnt a great deal as a class about orientalism and how we can identify orientalist motifs even in old-school Latin American comics and movies. This class broadened my understanding of orientalism to a great extent, and I think fellow people of color at Middlebury would really enjoy taking this class. You learn that there may be ways in which you think of the world in an orientalist way, and it allows you to grow as a person.
