Emily Proctor

I found Professor Proctors teaching style fantastic and her enthusiasm was very refreshing. The course itself is not too difficult as she is very thorough with her teaching and is constantly checking for any questions. The homework is pretty straight forward and is good practice. The exams are a step up in difficulty from the homework but we are allowed a note card during them. I would very much recommend this course with Professor Proctor to anyone who needs to take Calc I.

I love Prof. Proctor. It should be stated I took this class having already taken Calc I, but she really makes this class geared for those who haven't. She makes herself very available for any help and provides a lot of good resources for anyone to use. She is super kind and sweet, and I can't say enough good things about her. She likes to get into the theory of math, which can sometimes be confusing, but otherwise, the class is great. The exams are pretty straightforward and easier/the same as homework or in-class problems. She doesn't try to trick you on them. When grading, she is super nice and is purposefully looking for points to give you and what you did right. Homework counts for a lot of your grade, so prepare to have to do it before every class. I had a great experience in this class, especially with Proctor.

Proctor is very heavy with the homework, although I know she is continuing to tweak the class for the benefit of her students. Flipped classroom so most of the learning is done through homework videos and problem sets. Check homework in groups during class. I felt it helpful but know your learning style and if this is for you before registering with proctor. Love her tho shes so nice and cares about her students.
