Professor Evans is an amazing person and is clearly very passionate about the subject material. That being said, I found the class to be a bit repetitive. I took this class for the LIT credit and have to say it definitely earned its tag. There is constant reading and a reading response due each week. Other than that the class is pretty straightforward, just be ready to do a good amount of reading for each class

Prof Evans is very engaging and uses both pictures and facts to relay history, themes, and cultural ideas. There's a lot of reading and a reading response every week, but it's all very manageable. She also pushed back our midterm, so she's accommodating.

This class is a very unique experience. The first six weeks are spent delving into the history of Greenwich Village before 1913 to set you up for the game, which lasts 3ish weeks, where you'll be assigned a historical character and have to act as them in daily in-depth discussions. You can't skip or skim over the readings in this class and succeed, but the workload is manageable. While I feel this is an immersive way to learn and I will leave the class having an in-depth understanding of the dynamics at play during this period of history, I would only recommend the class if you feel comfortable speaking freely in discussions or speeches and are willing to take the time to really understand the material. Overall, the class was interesting, and I'd recommend it; it's just definitely not the class for you if you prefer to remain under the radar.
