Carrie Anderson
HARC
I think to take this course you must be passionate about the topic. Professor Anderson is very nice and accommodating. She however is a tough grader and her class style is exclusively lecture. For those who may not be interested in art and art history this may not be the class for you.
Took the class because Baroque Art was a topic of interest and it was a schedule filler, but definitely ended up gaining quite a bit from it. Prof. Anderson is insanely knowledgeable, but the classes are all lectures except for the occasional discussion/quiz, and she doesn't really take the time to get to know her students. There are constant readings, though they aren't really vital as long as you go to lectures and study for the discussions and quizzes (which are graded easily and harshly respectively). I'm definitely not an art history person, but this is a good class to take if you want a general idea of 1500s-1700s art history, and you can definitely do very well with very little work done outside of class as an added bonus.

This is a great class for those interested in HARC or looking to fulfill the distribution req. The class was centered around readings and in-class lectures, with three quizzes to gauge understanding of the material. There was an essay and virtual presentation which we were given plenty of time to work on. Prof. Anderson is not only a kind, caring person, but she also understands students' needs, struggles, etc. (especially during the Fall '23 semester). There can be a lot of reading, but if you keep up with them, the quizzes do not require arduous studying.
