Bob Cluss
This course is wildly interesting. You will learn a lot from Bob, but it will primarily be through your own efforts. His lectures are a bit haphazard, and you will often benefit more from self-study rather than attending class (attendance is not mandatory for lecture). His multiple choice questions are based on textbook facts so definitely read the textbook and prepare for exams by doing the book practice questions. He gives a few problem sets which are pretty straightforward, and the paper presentation (which is worth as much as the final) is graded easily if you put in the work. Bob is a great great guy and very smart, just not the best lecturer

Biochemistry of Macromolecules is not an easy class. There is a lot of heavy reading and expectation of retaining information from the lectures and the book. However, Bob Cluss is an amazing professor who is very enthusiastic about the material he teaches. His exams are hard but not extreme. He grades the presentations pretty leniently and that counts for a big chunk of the grade in the class which helps to get a good overall grade even if exam performance was not enough.

Bob is a great professor for this class. He definitely loves biochemistry and wants everyone else to love it as much as him. There is virtually no homework, so throughout normal weeks there it little to do outside of class. The tests and one presentation are what make-up your whole grade. The tests are very challenging and the presentation is a ton of work. Despite this class being hard, Bob does a great job of teaching the material and you learn a ton.
