Antonia is the most amazing professor, one of the best at Middlebury. Her class is a breath of fresh air as her lecture style is exciting and engaging. She would often read us a children's novel to make difficult reading make sense and gave us so many opportunities to write about what we wanted in the context of the class. I felt like I actually learned so much in this class, and know others who have taken lit theory with other professors cannot say the same. If you are going to take this class, you MUST MUST MUST take it with her. She is lovely, so smart, and supportive of her students.

Antonia is amazing and makes the really dense theory understandable for students - she is great at breaking things down and helping students escape the large words that make theory somewhat intimidating

I am an English major and this is by far my favorite English class Ive taken at Middlebury. For a course which has multiple teachers, I would highly suggest taking this class with Lozano. Even though this is a 3 hour long course she made it quite enjoyable. The first half of the class she would spend talking about the theory of the week, however this was not a lecture at all she would speak as if she was in conversation with the group and ask many questions but not scary questions more what are your thoughts. We would then take a break and then she would split us into small groups to discuss the theories relevance in the reading for the day, then gathering back together to hear the common themes. The class barely ever went the full the hours long I would say more 2:45.
