Antonia Losano
I really enjoyed my experience with Professor Losano! Each week, we read a new Victorian era novella (up to ~100 pages). The books were actually pretty fun to read. Expect things like Alice in Wonderland, Christmas Carol, and Sherlock Holmes. On Mondays, the professor lectures about the book, and on Wednesdays we divide into small groups for discussions. These discussions are very chill, and the professor provides the questions to guide them. Outside work includes very short Canvas posts every week, where you write anything you want about the book, and then reply to two other posts. There are also very quick reading quizzes once a week, and two papers for the whole semester. The papers are each 3-4 pages. Professor Losano is extremely kind, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about the Victorian era. I would highly recommend her and this class!

The layout of the course is 1 book per week with one lecture and one discussion per week. Antonia is enthusiastic and so kind. Cannot recommend her enough. The reading can be a lot but the actually works are very interested and not super hard to get through.
I absolutely loved Antonia. She made Intro to Contemporary Lit Theory such a joy to take! I was a little scared going in because people said it was pretty hard, but I felt like it was difficult in all the right ways. I learned so much and really am so glad to have taken it with Professor Losano.
