Ananya Das

This class frustrated me on many levels. The homework was often unreasonable busy work, requiring us to apply one concept we have learned in about an hour and then needing us to do about five hours of extra nonsense. She was a clear lecturer and uploaded her detailed notes which was nice, but the subject matter was unfortunately boring.

Professor Das method of teaching data structures was very helpful and made it easy to follow. The weekly homework were challenging, but doable with the help of TA hours. Exams were difficult, but the professor provided us with great practice beforehand and zoom sessions to cover material.

Professor Das is a tough professor, but I find her classes are always the most rewarding at the end. In this class, we had two midterms (one in the first half of the semester and one at the very end), four coding projects that could be done solo or in a pair, and a final project which included a presentation and a project write up. Personally, paired with another CS course, this class was tough. However, I enjoyed the material and the exams were not as difficult as one would think.
