Tracy Weston
Environmental Education classes were spent out in the field teaching lower school students almost every week. It is really helpful experience in lesson planning and interacting with students if you want to become a teacher. The assignments are not necessarily overly hard but can be time consuming to do lesson plans and the final project has a lot of components. There is also 10 hours of volunteer hours outside the class which takes some time. Tracy is a fair grader and knowledgable about the content. The class can be a bit repetitive at times with the readings.

I really enjoyed this course. The biggest commitment was lesson planning, which was time-consuming. Be prepared to spend lots of time outside of class on lesson planning. This course is great for getting real teaching experience that starts on the first day of class. It is mainly outside which is a good change of pace!
EnviroEd is mostly fieldwork and is a super fun class! You work with kids from local schools for half the class and the other part is discussion about the readings. There are sometimes pop quizzes, so you need to do the readings, but they're very interesting. You also have to do lesson plans every week (with a partner) for the kids you work with. I got lots of tangible experience and learned a lot from this course. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in this field
