First and foremost, this class is immensely valuable in terms of understanding how us consumers are marketed to. The class if relatively light in terms of workload, but if you properly engage with the material, you get the opportunity to identify just how much your daily life is affected by the concepts presented in the course. You also get the opportunity to make a pitch yourself, which is the bulk of the work and quite fun to do as you apply the strategies you learned about during the course. On the professor side, professor Palmer is extremely kind and understanding, making the class atmosphere very comfortable, and his enthusiasm for the course content really inspires the entire class to engage with the material fully.

Palmer was a great professor. He's a Midd alum, and clearly loves all things Middlebury. He's dedicated to the field of Marketing, and provides tons of resources that can be applicable both in class and in real world settings. Given Middlebury doesn't have a business/marketing focused major, this is definitely a great class to take if you have any interest in the field!

I really enjoyed this class. The material was interesting, and the professor was great. The only hard thing was the three-hour classes. This class would be even better if we had more projects and presentations rather than lectures.
